OREGON HIGH SCHOOL AND SMG PARTNER TO BRING NEW SCORING AND SPONSORSHIP OPPORUNITIES TO HAWKS ATHLETIC PROGRAMS

Edwardsville, IL, April 4, 2018- The Hawks of Oregon High School, in Oregon, Illinois have partnered with the Sports Media Group (SMG), the sports marketing division of Nevco. This partnership allows OHS to receive new scoring equipment for the Oregon Blackhawk Center, while collecting revenue generated from local sponsorships to use toward OHS athletic programs.

Oregon’s new Nevco scoreboards hang prominently on each end of the Blackhawk Center, and consist of (2) premier Title Sponsor signs and (12) in-line Sponsor signs. The scoreboards not only guarantee constant advertising for participating local businesses and organizations at every indoor event, but also generate a stream of revenue for OHS’s athletic department. The Title Sponsor position was quickly secured with Country Financial, an active supporter of Hawk Athletics, and other founding sponsors include TNT Motor Sales and KSB Hospital.
“Our new scoreboards and sponsorship spots have completely changed the game for Hawk athletics,” Says Mike Lawton, Oregon High School’s Director of Athletics. “Both student-athletes and fans love the new scoring additions to our gym, while the sponsor signs allow us to prominently display our partnership with our community at every home game.”

SMG will assume all facets of sports marketing on OHS’s behalf, while Oregon receives a portion of all the revenue generated through sponsorships. This agreement allows Sports Media Group to be responsible for securing sponsors for the school; relieving Athletic Directors from the pressure of finding creative and incremental revenue sources to maintain extracurricular athletics programs.
