Harrisburg high school parnters with sports media group

Edwardsville, IL, October 9, 2017 – Harrisburg High School (HHS) in Illinois has signed a multi-year sports marketing agreement with the Sports Media Group (SMG), a sports marketing division of Nevco Sports. As part of this partnership, the Bulldog’s upgraded their scorers table to a 10’ HD Display Scorers Table not only as an attractive equipment piece stationed at center-court but also capable of generating incremental revenue through advertising.

The sports marketing partnership between HHS and SMG outlines that SMG will assume all aspects of sports marketing like finding sponsors and advertisers, negotiating top rates on HHS’s behalf, finalize legal contracts, create professional looking graphics and logos for the advertisers and sponsors, and executing “proof of play” reports. The aforementioned items are often added to an Athletic Director’s ever-increasing list of job responsibilities or sometimes assigned to willing, yet untrained booster club volunteers. By schools “outsourcing” these tactics to an experienced company, schools’ athletic personnel not only free up their own time for other projects and responsibilities but an experienced sports marketing company often negotiates higher price-points with advertisers, thus increasing the school’s overall revenue potential.

The only stipulation to the agreement is that the Bulldog’s must wheel out and display their scorers table for every indoor home Varsity event and connect the table to wifi once a week (to receive new ads). By keeping their end of the contract, HHS will receive a portion of all advertising revenue that SMG secures.

The Harrisburg Bulldogs’ new HD Display Table will span 10’ long with 55” of digital space to show logos, ad content, and special messages or promotions for fans. With their 10’ table, comes 2 static signs that serve as an outlet for community businesses, or regionally based supporters, to have a constant presence in front of the crowd. With both digital and static media types available to advertisers, both large and small advertisers can gain valuable branding impressions from students, parents, and family.
